“As a black woman living in Oregon I am not afforded healthcare providers that resemble me, in great numbers. The history of healthcare for my community in the recent past and further may cause hesitancy. These fears are real, and as real as the uncertainty, is the truth about how Covid is affecting my community directly. In the light of the social justice work Oregon communities have rallied behind, and the healthcare groups who are diligently working toward grappling health disparities in Black communities; the time is now to believe. Believe in solutions that bridge cultural gaps and belonging. There’s a way for us to overcome, together. Get vaccinated and grow this community even stronger.”
