“All I could think of after having Malia was when the vaccine would finally become available. My doctors were very supportive and gave me as much information that they could. Then the time came for my first dose, and as we were in the car waiting in line Malia had the biggest meltdown. Panicked and stressed, I almost left before getting my shot because I couldn’t take hearing her cry. A volunteer worker came to my rescue and instantly guided us to the front of a line. He said, “Please don’t leave, this is too important, for you and her.” And he was right. I’m so thankful for his words of comfort in that moment. Challenges merely come with the territory when having a baby during a pandemic, but being fully vaccinated has helped ease my everyday worries with being a new mom.”
