“When I got vaccinated in March 2021, I cried tears of joy and relief. I had made it despite all of the challenges COVID brought me, I had survived long enough to receive some protection. I hadn’t seen any friends or family since right before the pandemic started. I thought about hugging my immune-compromised dad again. Now that all of my family has been fully vaccinated, I will finally be able to see and hug them again soon. We have sacrificed so much to keep each other safe and I’m so proud of us for getting to this point. Not all of my loved ones made it out of 2020 or 2021. They are members of the 600,000+ people who passed from COVID. I feel like my proceeding with life (with safety precautions) is honoring their memory. If you are still on the fence about getting vaccinated, I encourage you to talk to your local pharmacist or medical doctor about your concerns.”
