“When we went to get our COVID vaccine I felt a little nervous. Was it safe? Would it work? Thankfully I have several nurse friends who explained the vaccine trial process and how the vaccine worked. I hate needles but it wasn’t too bad. Both Josh and I deflected our worries with humor as always, joking with the national guard volunteers that we fully expected superhero like powers as side effects. In reality, the side effects weren’t so bad. Our arms were sore for a few hours and it felt like we had the flu for a day. Like Granola, we were tired for about a day and slept it off. Now that we’re vaccinated we’re going out to restaurants again. My local knitting group meets in person again and it is so heartwarming to see people’s smiles. And we can hug our friends again!”
